Playgroup Photos believes children should look like themselves, so our photographs are intentionally edited to reflect each child naturally.
At Playgroup Photos, every image is professionally edited as part of our standard photography service. Our editing approach focuses on natural colour, balanced lighting, and preserving the genuine personality of each child.
Our goal is to produce photographs that reflect children authentically and respectfully, rather than heavily altering their appearance.
Standard Image Editing
All images provided in your gallery already include professional adjustments such as:
• Colour correction and exposure balancing
• Cropping and framing adjustments
• Natural skin tone rendering
• Background and lighting consistency
These edits are included in the standard photography service and require no additional fee.
Cosmetic Retouching Requests
Occasionally families request additional cosmetic adjustments after the gallery has been published. These requests require manual image retrieval and custom Photoshop work outside our normal production workflow.
Examples of cosmetic retouching may include:
• Removal of scratches, bruises or minor marks
• Cleaning runny noses, food stains or drool
• Minor skin blemish correction
• Removal of temporary clothing marks or stains
• Tidying hair flyaways or small distractions
These adjustments are available as a custom editing service.
Bulk Editing Requests
Where cosmetic adjustments are requested for multiple images of the same child, Playgroup Photos may provide a custom quotation based on the number of images and complexity of the work required.
Bulk pricing is assessed on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed.
As galleries are designed to capture children naturally, cosmetic adjustments are typically recommended for one selected image only.
Requests We Do Not Undertake
For ethical and professional reasons, Playgroup Photos does not perform edits that significantly alter a child’s natural appearance.
This includes:
• Body reshaping or slimming
• Facial structure alterations
• Removal of permanent features such as birthmarks or scars or medical devices
• Edits that change the child’s natural identity or expression
We reserve the right to decline any request that falls outside our editing standards.
Our Commitment
Playgroup Photos photographs thousands of children each year. Introducing custom retouching into a high-volume photography workflow requires additional editing time and manual file handling.
This policy allows us to:
• Maintain fair pricing for all families
• Preserve efficient gallery delivery times
• Ensure consistent image quality
• Provide optional editing services when requested
