Our Editing Philosophy

All Playgroup Photos images are professionally edited as part of our standard workflow. This includes

colour correction, exposure balancing, cropping, and natural skin tone rendering. Our editing style is

intentionally natural and age appropriate, preserving the authenticity of each child.

What Is Cosmetic Retouching?

Cosmetic retouching refers to additional image adjustments requested after galleries have been released.

These edits require manual image retrieval and custom Photoshop work outside our standard production process.

Examples include removal of scratches, bruises, runny noses, food stains, minor blemishes, drool marks,

clothing stains, or hair flyaways.

Requests We Do Not Undertake

For ethical and professional reasons, we do not perform body reshaping, facial structure changes, removal

of permanent features (such as birthmarks), or edits that materially alter a child's appearance.

Pricing

Service Price

Minor cosmetic adjustment (per image) $25

Complex or multiple adjustments (per image) $45

Image retrieval & administration fee $15

Minimum charge per request $40

Bulk Retouching Requests

Where cosmetic adjustments are requested for multiple images of the same child, Playgroup Photos may provide a custom quotation based on the scope of work required.

Bulk retouching requests are assessed individually and may include:

  • Volume of images

  • Complexity of the requested adjustments

  • Time required for manual editing and file handling

Please note that bulk pricing is not guaranteed and remains at the discretion of Playgroup Photos.

Conditions

• Payment is required before work begins.

• Typical turnaround time is 5–10 business days.

• Retouched images replace the original gallery image.

• Fees are nonrefundable once editing has commenced.

Why This Policy Exists

Playgroup Photos photographs thousands of children each year. Custom retouching requires manual

editing, file handling, and quality control. This policy ensures fairness to all families while maintaining

efficient production timelines.
